One of the first decisions to be made is the wedding location. You have the option of a formal setting such as a church or a more casual setting such as a garden. Besides your personal tastes things such as weather and the time of the year may make the decision a more obvious one. But keep in mind even a wedding held in a church can be decorated in such a way as to give it that casual feel. Again you need to generate the look that you envisioned.

Take the time necessary to write out your wedding vows, because this is going to be remembered by your spouse for a long time. Keep in mind that getting married is a commitment that might require some sacrifices. Make your love for your spouse-to-be crystal clear in your vows.

While you may not want your wedding to have a hard and fast theme like a child’s party would, you at least need to determine if it will be formal or casual and whether you will have it in a setting that dictates a theme. For instance, a ballroom wedding is going to have a much different feel than one at a museum or farmhouse. All of them can be elegant and nice, but they will each have a different feeling.
